Depleting Oil Resources and Fuel Efficient Cars
The last two decades have seen great transformations in all most all the industries but the changes and the growth in the automobile sector has directly has greatly affected our natural resources of oil. There is no denying to the fact that there has been a great development in the oil production techniques and serious efforts have been put in exploring new areas with potential oil resources.Still the question remains, how far will our current oil resources long?
A recent research has clearly laid it down that at the present rate of consumption all our oil resources will nearly finish by 2030.Keeping this in mind, and the fact that such resources replenish at a much slower rate as compared to their consumption, researchers all over the world are trying to find some alternative source for the same.Another approach is to improve the efficiency of the cars so that stress on the resources can be lowered to some extent.

During the past few years almost all the big guns in the automobile sector have tried their best to make the most economical cars. The best effort in this regard has been of Mitsubishi who have come up with Mitsubishi i-MiEV with the average efficiency of 2L per 100km.Nissan LEAF is another big effort followed by cars like Ford Azure Dynamics,Chevrolet Volt,Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid and Honda Insight.
With the car manufacturing companies having shifted their focus to developing countries like India where the people are greatly obsessed with mileage, the need for making fuel efficient cars increases more but the biggest challenge remains the making most fuel efficient at the prices that are affordable in developing countries. So car manufacturers have been successful,to some extent, but a lot more needs to be done.
